The global health pandemic has changed the world as we know it, forcing millions of businesses worldwide to rethink their approach towards work.

In normal times, the project management methodology is an important factor for the success of the project. During a pandemic, the impact of implementing the right methodology became more significant and even more vital to a project’s success.

Why Hybrid?
Historically, project success was measured by meeting the triple constraints of time, budget, and scope. Currently, project success is recognized as a multidimensional construct, taking into consideration the business industry, the project complexity, the team size, the stakeholder involvement, and company & team competencies.

When selecting the hybrid approach, you can plan with Waterfall, execute with Agile, and close with Waterfall to speed up the whole process without compromising the project scope and minimizing risk. It is much like creating a picture designed from puzzle pieces by:
▪ Defining requirements upfront sets the stage for future sprints
▪ Collaborating with your stakeholders in proactively
▪ Testing throughout sprints, and full regression before closing the project.

Finally…, there is no doubt that after the global health pandemic crisis has subsided, the hybrid work model will persist. This will create challenges not just from communication, management, and execution but also with new technology that will all need to adapt to an increasingly hybrid model where the workforce is both remote and in office.
