The future common project methodology used will be more towards Agile. In a dynamic team structure, everything is gearing towards Agile. Thus Team Accountability is very important. In my opinion, these are the few common practices to achieve team accountability.

  1. When assigning to a task, identify a team member’s name instead of putting a team. E.g Alex is tasked to do the procurement and not the procurement team is doing the order placement. Attach a name to an activity, whenever possible.
  2. Have a good, comprehensive RACI chart, indicating the correct resource to do what tasks / activities.
  3. Giving clear instruction to resources when assigning the task. No vague requirements and expect resources to have their own creative imagination.
  4. Once the task is assigned, Project Manager to track the progress regularly to ensure the work is delivered timely and within the expected requirement.
  5. If the resource is late for delivery, ensure the resource commits a new timeline and is achievable. To avoid repeat delays, the Project Manager will then have to keep close communication with the resource on the progress.
