A word on PMI from SMEs , how did it serve you?

got a very early break as a Project Manager in my career and started loving the subject, as you can do so much for your organization and yourself. I got introduced to PMI through their popular certification - "PMP" some 15 years back, which helped me with many things such as recognition, better career prospects, structured knowledge. respect, etc. However, one thing that PMI's PMP gave me was more confidence to deliver on the project. The passion for project management just started growing with PMI coming into my life. It opened a lot of avenues and opportunities. I went on to do some other certifications from PMI and now, I am a PgMP (Program Management), PfMP (Portfolio Management) and PMI-ACP (Agile certified Professional). As I did my certifications, my association with PMI grew and I was more involved with PMI activities, as their structure also allows a lot of contribution from the volunteers.
PMI gave me a platform to explore different aspects of project management. It gave me an opportunity to learn from different experts, and also gave an unique platform to share my knowledge with many other experts and practitioners. I presented 4 technical papers on PMI's National conference so far to a crowd of 500 people or more. I was an active volunteer with PMI for so many years and was a part of Ethics & Grievance committee with PMI's local chapter. I am sure like me, many others value PMI contribution a lot, as it helps them to assimilate and dispense the knowledge, and pursue your passion and celebrate project management.
