Multitasking can be specified in two ways:
Earlier it was very easy for men and women as tasks were defined. Men used to play the role of PROVIDER and Women used to play the role of NURTURER. So the tasks were very clear to perform. Men used to inherit the same ancestral business, so clear demarcation was there for earning. So there was no brain drain, no multitasking at the same time contentment was high.
Being Nurturer women’s role was defined i.e. to procreate and to nurture the house
As we are evolving fast, continuously we are breaking old conditioning of society, hence we are putting ourselves in a frame where multitasking is necessity, urban lifestyle making it worse.
We can witness imbalance in the energy of men and women, which is the cause of ill health.
Scenario A: Multitasking for a calm MIND
It is always better to recognize our area of strength and weakness.
Every person comes with an unique CODE that’s why our retina reflection and thumb impression are not the same. Body is complete science and our ability to perform tasks are embedded in our DNA but our ignorance or in absence of awareness we try to experiment with our code. Few are good with analytics, few may with logics, few are good with creation(they can create but can not execute). So recognizing own code is very important and after recognizing we can enhance our skills based on that particular trait. Once we recognize our area of passion and we devote our energy in that, body’s dopamine level increases. With such high energy we can break all limits as mind does not know any limit. Here multitasking won’t drain us and effortlessly we can do many tasks by prioritising them. This state can be attained by calming the mind. If we inculcate the habit of meditation, Yoga, Conscious breathing since childhood, a child can decode his/her code without any struggle and here multitasking is not a threat. A Curious child’s mind knows no limits, with age we start conditioning our mind to limit everything.
Scenario B: Multitasking for a chaotic MIND
A chaotic mind releases stress hormone-cortisol, so is not capable of multitasking. People find difficulties to finish the day to day activities. If our brain is occupied with thoughts of finishing many tasks we won’t be able to perform the tasks effortlessly. So we land up in stress and this stress creates barrier for us, it limits our efficiency. Mind blocks our ability to perform. This situation is a threat to our health and to our brain. In this situation we can witness few health hazards.
- Multitasking does not allow us to use our true potential as brain is scattered while performing different different tasks
- Productivity goes down as brain gets busy in assigning multiple tasks and single pointedness is needed to enhance productivity
- Career graph goes down as we have not enhanced/sharpened our skills in a particular direction
- Confusion arises at certain point of time which can lead to frustration followed by some behavioral issues
- Fatigue can be witnessed
- Quality of life can be deteriorated
- It impacts the function normal function of brain and we start forgetting small small things
So Two Scenarios are there to define one’s situation, we can choose and act upon.
