Such an honor to be part of the global PMI network over the past 25 of the 32 years of my career. Through their growth and evolution, I've grown and evolved in my career. The best practices and framework provided through the continued contributions of practitioners world-wide helped provide structure when there was none (in the early days) and ultimate success to the projects I've managed and teams I've led. The PMP certification has brought credibility that has advanced my career and provided unthinkable opportunities. My global network of peers has brought leverage through knowledge, expertise and resources. It has been exciting to be part of a chapter who started with about 30 people and grew to thousands and becoming one of the biggest ones worldwide. I'm grateful to now serve as an advisor to those designing and advancing their careers and companies accelerating their growth through project management. Congratulations PMI... and, thank you!

It has been a great career and lifetime experience with PMI for me. I say lifetime as I am still carrying on with my PMI knowledge and experience at 62. I have been a professional contributor for 20 years, volunteer contributor for 3 years, a Corporate trainer for 8 years and still hoping to contribute as long as I work. I can say so many of my exective students still recognise me because of my PMI knowledge. As once a PMI REP asked me are you king maker?, I can confidently say PMI is and I only speak and advice as per PMBOK.

My experience with PMI goes back to 2000 when I've attained the PMP certification. Back then, I was one of the 15 PMP in Latin America and it certainly gave me of diferentiation against other people looking to stand out from the pack. Then I obtained the PgMP certification in 2008, Both certifications helped me to improve in my career but also gave me a lot opportunities to do volunteering within PMI either by reviewing exam questions or as a member of the Role Delineation study for PgMP. Or even later when I was part of the Panel review for the certification for PgMP.

As a consultant I had the chance to grow and foster my knowledge and to exchange experiences with other members and to apply what I have learned. In my role as a PMI chapter board member, I could help to spread my insights and to gain experience in leadership. By supportimg the PMBOK translation review, I had the opportunity to discuss and exchange views and insights with other experts in depth. And, last but not least, as the winner of the PMI® Continuing Professional Education Product of the Year 2017, PMI honored my contribution, although I had to honor them.

Before even we start to talk about the importance of Project Management
1. According to a recent article published by Forbes, in list of 15 top paying IT certifications in 2019, (PMP)® ranks second.
2. (PMP)® certification increased in value by 18.6%, jumping from a median salary of $114,473 in 2018 to $135,798 in 2019.
3. As per April 2019 statistics published by PMI, Total Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification holders are 914,401. These numbers are astonishing and clearly speaks about the importance of PMP in your professional career. Some other important factors are:
1. Success Rate:
a. On average, about 40 percentage of projects are successful and around 20 percent fail across different industries. The success rate is tightly linked with the qualification of the project manager. Projects managed by PMP certified managers have more probability of completing the project on time, within budget and within scope.
2. Common Language
a. More than 90% of the time of a project manager is spend in communicating. The ability to speak common business language helps to ensure that stakeholders are on the same page. At the end of the day, PMP is a huge value add which will make sure that right things are done at right time in right format.

I have seen PMI solidify the role delineations and migrating to a skills based competency base. I think PMI is in a unique position to assist business in transformation to digital commerce and advanced skill set. I see the PMP becoming the main driver to helping harness the Internet of Things and global commerce. It will grow into a strategic partner and demonstrate unique leadership through a variety of tool, techniques, and methodologies that are agile, strategic, and valuable.

My greatest reflection of contribution towards PMI is shown in the form of acknowledgement in PMBOK 6, where PMI has given credit to contributors of PMBOK 6. I have applied some of the PMBOK concepts in professional life as well and they have benefited me a lot. Thank you PMI.

The PMI is not only a certification that gives prestige to the curriculum of every person, but is a way of thinking, acting, dealing with the situations that we have to manage every day both at work and in our personal lives. It is to learn techniques and tools that are increasingly useful to manage both our job and what surrounds us on a daily basis. I approached the PMI many years ago but I see that my learning path is always continuous; I never stop learning new techniques and ways of putting myself in front of the many daily problems. Over the years I have acquired a new way of dealing with and seeing things. I have enriched myself as a person. I can apply the many tools that I have learned in the various certifications obtained in my everyday life. It's a path that never seems to end, every certification taken has enriched me with new notions and new ways of seeing things, complementary to each other. It is like a puzzle that gets clearer as times goes by.

got a very early break as a Project Manager in my career and started loving the subject, as you can do so much for your organization and yourself. I got introduced to PMI through their popular certification - "PMP" some 15 years back, which helped me with many things such as recognition, better career prospects, structured knowledge. respect, etc. However, one thing that PMI's PMP gave me was more confidence to deliver on the project. The passion for project management just started growing with PMI coming into my life. It opened a lot of avenues and opportunities. I went on to do some other certifications from PMI and now, I am a PgMP (Program Management), PfMP (Portfolio Management) and PMI-ACP (Agile certified Professional). As I did my certifications, my association with PMI grew and I was more involved with PMI activities, as their structure also allows a lot of contribution from the volunteers.
PMI gave me a platform to explore different aspects of project management. It gave me an opportunity to learn from different experts, and also gave an unique platform to share my knowledge with many other experts and practitioners. I presented 4 technical papers on PMI's National conference so far to a crowd of 500 people or more. I was an active volunteer with PMI for so many years and was a part of Ethics & Grievance committee with PMI's local chapter. I am sure like me, many others value PMI contribution a lot, as it helps them to assimilate and dispense the knowledge, and pursue your passion and celebrate project management.
A big thank you and lots of hugs to PMI - and keep on supporting us and project management. Happy 50th Birthday!!

Being PMP is a proud moment in any professional's life. Its not just a simple certification which anyone can get by studying and appearing in the exam, but its a mindset, a complete shift from conventional to a structured professional approach that you earned by hardship and compassion. Not everyone experiences the same situation in profession after becoming PMP or any other PMI certification, because organizations are not mature enough to accommodate changes as a result of adopting non traditional best practices of Projects Management as guided by PMI. In my humble opinion a chapter to transform Organizational Management must be added to the PMBOK, so the PMs while addressing projects issues and challenges shall not forget Management's engagement and can apply techniques to fully involve and get buy-in of the management for the greater success of the projects.

In my opinion, there is no END to project management evolution and improvement, so being updated is a MUST for who is interested in this field. Consequently I decided to continue my way expanding my knowledge using other PMI standards and went on to get various PMI certificates. To me they aren't just certificates, they are windows to a new world of profession. To the world of risk management, Agile Project Management, Business Analysis and .... Based on these achievements I could change my business career as well as my life. I could combine my experiences with my knowledge and had a very positive impact on industries in my country. I am thankful to PMI for giving all of us this opportunity to share our knowledge and keep our projects in the best possible way and for using experts to improve the knowledge. My PMI journey has been quite unique and really enriching, to say the least. Recently I was in a room of PM professionals and people were saying how long their associations have been with PMI and eventually when I said it's over 15 years, a lot of people were quite pleasantly surprised as this long an association is not very common in this part of the world. My PMI association has not only helped me get the certifications like PgMP and PMP but more so has helped develop a thorough understanding of how businesses work, their strengths and weaknesses, their ability to cater to their customers. It is not only the PM practices that you learn through your association with PMI, but also the way organizations work, the dynamics which in overall helps you to develop as an individual along with a project manager. Another great aspect being with PMI is you get to know your community, interact with like-minded individuals and this provides you with an immense learning and knowledge sharing experience that guides your career in many ways which we don’t realise immediately. Over the years’ this transforms you into an informed and knowledgeable individual. In summary, my journey with PMI over the last decade and more has been extremely enriching which has helped me develop as an individual both professionally and personally. I look forward to continuing this journey in the future too.

Cutting ties with technical careers enabled me to switch to dealing with people and help to reduce their uncertainty. PMI became a part of my life in 1998, when I achieved my PMP answering 400 questions in 8 hours. I was also asked to lead the PMI Frankfurt Chapter, which I grew for 8 years. For the term 2006-2008 I was elected to the PMI Board, and again 2017-2019. In between I served 6 years on the PMI Ethics Review Committee. PMP changed my self-understanding, my reputation and my confidence to be able to reduce any uncertainty. PMI volunteering brought me a global network of like-minded, a sandbox to test skills of leading without authority, and a continuous positive feeling of being needed and able to help others.

Sounds simple, for me it is the hardest task. To this mix, we have global, cultural challenges makes our task even more challenging. PMP certification from PMI has had a significant impact on my career. Within a couple of months of achieving this milestone, my profile got more attention & I was soon able to secure a senior level position in a company working across multiple geographic regions. The certification and the knowledge gained to date through PMI and associated channels has helped me shape into a better project manager. If time permits I will definitely go for additional PMI certifications.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is a life changing Institution and a career elevator. Every single second spent in learning for a PMI Certificate is an investment for your future. I am a lucky PgMP and PMP credential holder. And the less that I can say is that, these certificates played an invaluable role in the path taken by my career. I remember 6 years ago when I got my PMP credential. I was a young project manager in lack of recognition and visibility in my field. This credential act like a wall-breaker and catalyst in helping me get more interesting opportunities in the Project Management Industry. More recently, a year ago, I got certified in Program Management through the PgMP credential. Apart from the credential itself, my journey in pursuing it was one of the most challenging and passionate moment of my whole life. During this journey, I had the opportunity to meet up with and to be welcomed in a community full of highly skilled and talented professionals, all bound by the desire to learn and give back to the community. This encounter has completely changed my life. So, it is with a heart full Joy that I will say Happy Anniversary PMI. Continue to change people's life and Stay Eternally Blessed.

Its been a good relationship with PMI for over 9 years now. I have always believed that earning a certification is a testimony of your knowledge and skills. I have always appreciated the frameworks created by PMI and certifications build around that. It has been very satisfying to earn PgMP, PMP and ACP certifications from PMI.

My PMP® certification took 6 years of preparation; In 2006 I thought about getting certified and executed my plan in 2011. In 2012 & 2016, I got PgMP® and PfMP® certifications respectively. I was skeptical about the effectiveness of these certifications. Although I got PMP® certified in 2011, I have read PMBOK® several times since 2006. I started using the tools & techniques, the terminologies, artifacts and templates much before my certification. As a result, I saw my career soaring to new heights and I got promoted from Project Manager to Program Manager. My knowledge, my understanding, my ability to think through and think far and several other skills were advanced after I started practicing the knowledge I gained from PMBOK. It is not the certificate but the implementation of the knowledge gained through the process of certifications that have helped me move from Project Manager to Global Head of PMO. Furthermore, PMI through its local chapters have helped me build a network, market credibility, recognition and a sense of achievement. I strongly believe that PMI has been one of the greatest success factors towards my career growth.

Being part of this community is a great pleasure, I like the idea that there are chapters in each country. Even when I travel, I check the events and attend since I love meeting new people in the same field from different countries. Career wise, I was able to progress faster and I am looking forward to take a higher certification since I really experienced it's importance and the added value.
